Key Responsibilities

• Support, enhance, and maintain SMART-based retail applications
• Analyze application stack, business workflows, and technical dependencies
• Identify input/output sources, APIs/services, batch jobs, logs, and tables
• Work on reverse engineering, documentation, and legacy system understanding
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide incident / cutover support
• Support data extraction, monitoring, and operational validation activities
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand application behavior and modernization requirements

Must-Have Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in SMART or similar retail legacy systems
• Strong expertise in Informix 4GL, Informix SQL, and ESQL
• Good experience with Unix/Linux
• Strong scripting experience in Shell and/or Perl
• Experience in production support, batch jobs, incident analysis, logs, and data tracing
• Strong understanding of retail store operations / POS / inventory / replenishment workflows
• Ability to understand and explain legacy application architecture and data flow

Good to Have

• Experience with Concord, IMS, Resource Manager, Splunk, Teradata, ServiceNow
• Exposure to legacy decommissioning / migration / modernization
• Experience supporting store back-end applications
• Ability to create technical documentation and support reverse engineering initiatives

• Has worked directly on SMART / retail legacy applications
• Can explain end-to-end application behavior, jobs, integrations, and support processes
• Strong in both technical troubleshooting and business flow understanding
• Comfortable working in high-dependency production environments
