SEO Team Lead / Strategist

Location: Gurgaon

What You'll Do


Strategy & Account Leadership

  • Own the SEO strategy and roadmap for a portfolio of US & Canada-based powersports and automotive client accounts, from technical foundations through content and authority building.
  • Audit and analyze accounts in depth — diagnose ranking, indexation, technical, on-page, and off-page issues and prioritize the work that moves the needle.
  • Set measurable goals, track performance, and clearly tie SEO activity to client outcomes.
  • Local SEO & Google Business Profile (GBP): Own GBP optimization and management — listings, categories, posts, reviews, and local signals — to drive map pack visibility and local performance for relevant clients.


Tooling & Execution (Search Atlas)

  • Search Atlas mastery: Run day-to-day SEO delivery inside Search Atlas, including OTTO SEO automation, technical and on-page optimization, content tooling, topical maps, and link/digital PR workflows.
  • Configure, deploy, and quality-check automated optimizations rather than treating the tool as a black box — know when to trust automation and when to intervene manually.
  • Build repeatable, documented workflows in the platform so the team delivers consistently at scale.


Cutting-Edge SEO: AEO & GEO

  • AEO (Answer Engine Optimization): Optimize client content to be surfaced and cited by AI answer features such as Google AI Overviews, featured snippets, and answer boxes.
  • GEO (Generative Engine Optimization): Develop tactics to get clients cited as trusted sources inside generative engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini.
  • Stay ahead of the shift in search behavior toward AI-driven discovery and translate emerging best practices into concrete, repeatable processes for the team.
  • Pilot new techniques on real accounts, measure impact, and roll out what works.


Team Management & Training

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of offshore SEO specialists — set standards, review work, and raise the overall quality bar.
  • Build and deliver training on SEO fundamentals, Search Atlas, and new disciplines like AEO and GEO so the team keeps pace with the industry.
  • Manage workload distribution, quality assurance, and timely delivery across the portfolio.


Communication & Collaboration

  • Act as the SEO point of contact for onshore account and client-facing teams, communicating clearly and proactively across time zones.
  • Explain technical SEO issues, root causes, and recommended fixes in plain, non-technical language that account managers and clients can act on.
  • Produce clear reporting and updates that connect SEO activity to business results.


Continuous Learning

  • Continuously learn and evaluate new SEO products, features, and AI tools, and decide what to bring into the team's toolkit.
  • Keep current with algorithm updates and the evolving search and AI-search landscape.


What You Bring


  • 6–9 years of SEO experience, including a proven track record leading SEO strategy across multiple accounts or clients (agency experience strongly preferred).
  • Team leadership: demonstrated experience managing, mentoring, and training an SEO team.
  • Hands-on Search Atlas experience (including OTTO) — or deep expertise in a comparable enterprise SEO platform with the ability to master Search Atlas quickly.
  • Strong technical SEO across crawling, indexation, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, structured data/schema, and on-page optimization.
  • Local SEO & GBP expertise: hands-on experience optimizing and managing Google Business Profiles to win local and map pack visibility.
  • Working knowledge of AEO and GEO and genuine enthusiasm for the AI-driven future of search.
  • Excellent English communication — able to explain complex issues simply and collaborate smoothly with onshore teams across time zones.
  • Analytical mindset: comfortable with GA4, Google Search Console, and SEO analytics, and able to turn data into clear recommendations.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-changing field and proactively brings new ideas and tools to the table.


Nice to Have


  • Experience setting up reporting dashboards and SEO QA processes for an agency.
  • Familiarity with content operations, digital PR, and link-building at scale.
  • Experience working in an offshore / distributed delivery model.
  • Relevant certifications or a portfolio of measurable SEO wins.
