Ruined By Fiction is an independent bookstore based in Chennai, India, specialising in handcrafted sprayed-edge books shipped worldwide. We're a small, passionate team obsessed with beautiful books and the communities that love them.

Role Description:

This is a part-time, hybrid role for a Social Media Lead. Chennai-based candidates are preferred. Candidates from other cities or countries are also welcome to apply.

The Social Media Lead will take full ownership of RBF's Instagram presence.

• Running the RBF Instagram: posts, reels, stories, DMs, comments
• Staying on top of trends and trending audio and jumping on them early
• Creating aesthetic, scroll-stopping content using actual RBF books
• Editing reels with strong hooks that pull viewers in
• Maintaining a consistent, beautiful brand aesthetic (non-negotiable)
• Bringing ideas to the table without being asked

Qualifications:

• An actual reader who loves books - this matters more than anything else
• Active Bookstagram presence with a strong, consistent aesthetic
• Always on top of trends - audio, formats, what's resonating in the book community
• Proficient in Canva with basic photo and video editing skills
• Strong eye for typography and how text sits within a visual
• Reliable, self-driven, comfortable working independently
• Follower count doesn't matter - your eye for detail does
