Social Media Producer

Role Overview

We are looking for a passionate and news-savvy Social Media Producer to join the NDTV Social Media team. The role requires someone who understands digital journalism, follows the news cycle closely, and can transform editorial content into engaging social media formats.

While the primary focus will be on Instagram, the candidate should also have a good understanding of X and LinkedIn, and be comfortable adapting content for different audiences and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage NDTV's Instagram presence by publishing timely, accurate and engaging content throughout the day
* Create platform-first content by identifying the most effective storytelling format, whether static graphics, carousels, Reels, videos or Stories
* Write sharp, engaging and grammatically accurate captions that maintain NDTV's editorial standards while maximising audience engagement
* Work closely with newsroom editors, producers, video teams and graphic designers to ensure news is published quickly and accurately across social platforms
* Identify stories with strong social media potential and suggest innovative ways to present them to audiences
* Monitor trends, conversations and audience behaviour to help improve content performance and engagement
* Assist in publishing and optimising content on X by writing compelling copy, selecting appropriate visuals and ensuring timely updates on major news developments
* Support the management of NDTV's LinkedIn presence by creating professional, informative and platform-appropriate posts that strengthen the brand's presence among professionals
* Ensure all content adheres to NDTV's editorial guidelines, accuracy standards and social media best practices
* Monitor the performance of published content and contribute ideas based on analytics and audience insights
* Be comfortable working in a fast-paced newsroom environment, including rotational shifts, weekends and during major breaking news events

Desired Skills

* Strong news sense and a genuine interest in current affairs
* Excellent written English with the ability to write concise, engaging and platform-specific copy
* Good understanding of Instagram, including Reels, Stories, carousels and emerging platform features
* Familiarity with social media analytics and the ability to interpret performance metrics
* Basic understanding of visual storytelling and experience working with graphic and video teams
* Ability to prioritise multiple stories and work efficiently under tight deadlines
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
