We pride ourselves on a culture that encourages open, creative thinking and collaboration to solve complex challenges.
About the Role
We're looking for a dedicated Software QA Engineer with passion for automation, especially when it comes to challenge of transforming complex manual test cases into robust, efficient automated solutions.
We're seeking an experienced Software QA Engineer - Automation to play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our desktop simulation products within a multiplatform environment. You'll be instrumental in our Quality Center of Excellence, working with industry-leading CAE tools and directly contributing to the development of high-quality software through advanced automated QA.
This isn't just about writing scripts; it's about creatively solving problems. You'll focus on automating those "hard-to-automate" scenarios, particularly graphical user interface (GUI) interactions, complex selections, and other user-driven workflows that demand innovative scripting solutions. You'll collaborate closely with experienced QA engineers and developers, driving the evolution of automated testing for our desktop simulation products.
Key Responsibilities

- Architect and implement automated tests specifically targeting challenging user interface and graphics-intensive test cases, leveraging automation tool, Ranorex, to expand automation coverage beyond conventional limitations.
- Create programs or scripts that automate test cases from real-world engineering functionalities like import/export, analysis setup, or post-processing tasks.
- Proactively translate existing manual test cases into efficient automated scripts, ensuring comprehensive coverage, improved efficiency, and faster feedback cycles. You'll design tests that effectively validate new features and existing functionality.
- Develop and prepare model files within Simcenter products to automate the required features.
- Update the current suite of automated tests to align with the latest product releases and add new automated tests for functional areas that currently lack automation.
- Utilize your scripting skills to help diagnose software and/or emulation hardware functional failures, identify root causes, and provide clear, actionable insights for repair.
- Work closely with senior QA engineers and software developers, actively contributing to discussions on test strategy, automation architecture, and the integration of automated tests into our continuous integration pipelines.
Required Qualifications
We're looking for someone who brings:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in test automation within Software Quality Engineering, with a strong portfolio of automation projects.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as C, C#.
- Hands-on automation experience with tools and frameworks like Ranorex, Selenium, Squish or similar.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration.
- Exposure or experience with software development for desktop simulations products like Simcenter (e.g. CAD/CAE Software)
Preferred Qualifications
These "nice-to-haves" will help you stand out:
- Familiarity with various operating systems, including Windows, UNIX/Linux.
- Basic understanding of Finite Element Analysis concept either through coursework or projects. Familiarity with any CAE software is a plus.
