About Us:

SAPA Bakery, a unit of Kaffeeklatsch Foods Private Limited, is known for high-quality baked goods and continental cuisine. We’re expanding our culinary team in Mysore and looking for a motivated, skilled Sou Chef to support our continental kitchen.


Role Summary

The Sou Chef will work closely with the culinary team to produce consistent, high-quality continental dishes. This role supports menu execution, assists Head Chefs in research & development (R&D), and takes charge of kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills, professional leadership experience, and a passion for food.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation, cooking, and presentation of continental dishes to maintain consistent quality and flavor.
  • Support Head Chefs in R&D: develop and test new recipes, refine existing dishes, perform tasting trials, and document recipes and specifications.
  • Lead kitchen operations when the Head Chef is busy or not available: coordinate stations, manage mise en place, oversee service flow, and ensure timely delivery of orders.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise junior cooks and commis; delegate tasks and monitor performance.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety; enforce sanitation procedures and monitor food storage practices.
  • Monitor ingredient quality, portion control, and waste reduction to optimize food cost and consistency.
  • Assist in inventory control: help with stock rotation, requisitions, and supplier coordination as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company recipes, plating standards, and portion guides.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, positive kitchen culture and help resolve operational issues during service.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Prior experience working in a continental kitchen; demonstrated competency with European-style cooking techniques.
  • Culinary diploma, professional certification, or equivalent formal training preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of cooking methods, sauce-making, and plating techniques.
  • Proven leadership experience in a professional kitchen; ability to supervise and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and a solutions-oriented attitude.
