Role Title: Sr Business Analyst
Position Summary:
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for the collection, evaluation, understanding, and communication of business requirements involved in the development of new or the modification and ongoing support of existing enterprise business applications. This position is the second of four levels within the Business Analysis job family.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participates in system requirements definition, testing, training, implementation, and support of enterprise-wide business applications.
- Solicits business requirements through interviews, workshops, and/or existing system documentation or procedures. Uses industry standard analysis techniques to uncover business requirements, such as data flow modeling, use-case analysis, and workflow analysis.
- Documents the results of analysis activities using the appropriate templates and tools.
- Makes recommendations regarding necessary changes on deliverables expected from other groups.
- Works with other development groups to ensure an integrated business solution.
- Assumes the responsibility of project manager for projects that are limited in scope and are, generally, modifications to an existing application.
- Demonstrates a clear understanding of FM Global’s business and business processes.
Skill and Experience:
- 4 -6 years of experience required to perform essential job functions.
- Additional Experience Qualifier (optional): 4+ years of general business analysis experience
- TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE | Strong knowledge of techniques and tools utilized in functional design, data analysis, and data flow diagramming. | Knowledge of FM Global's current/planned technological environment and the appropriate technologies, tools, and techniques used to solve business problems.
- TECHNICAL SKILLS | Experience gathering requirements, functional design, and working with business processes. | Proven ability to work in technical environments that use tools involved in data flow diagramming, data analysis, issue tracking, and documentation and presentation.
- SOFT SKILLS | Proven ability to multi-task and establish priorities. | Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication and organizational skills.
Must Have Skills:
- Workday Functional Expertise - Deep working knowledge in various Workday HCM modules supporting Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Absence Management and Time Tracking, including end to end business processes, and how Workday functions as the system of record within a broader HR technology and analytics ecosystem (e.g., ATS and external HR analytics platforms such as Vemo).
- Workday Configuration and Business Process Framework (BPF) - Ability to analyze, design, and support Workday configurations, including business process definitions, condition rules, validations, notifications, and approvals, with consideration for upstream and downstream impacts to integrated platforms such as iCIMS and Vemo analytics.
- Requirements Translation to Workday and Connected Platform Objects - Proven skill translating business needs into Workday specific constructs such as organizations, supervisory structures, security roles, calculated fields, dashboards, and reporting frameworks, as well as translating requirements into iCIMS recruiting workflows and Vemo analytics models, metrics definitions, and data consumption rules.
- Reporting and Data Analysis (Workday, iCIMS, Vemo and others) - Strong experience building and interpreting Workday reports, including Advanced, Matrix, and Composite reports, and validating data through EIBs and calculated fields
- Experience partnering with HR, Talent, Compensation, Benefits and Analytics teams to support Vemo HR analytics use cases, including workforce insights, trend analysis, data validation, and reconciliation between Workday, iCIMS, and Vemo.
- Security and Role Based Access Understanding - Solid understanding of Workday security concepts, including domain security policies, business process security, role assignments, and impacts to user access and compliance, with working knowledge of role based access, data privacy, and governance considerations for iCIMS and Vemo analytics platforms.
- Integration Awareness and Dependency Analysis - Working knowledge of Workday integrations and data movement, including inbound and outbound integrations, EIBs, Core Connectors, and third party system touchpoints.
- Experience supporting or partnering on integrations that feed HR analytics platforms such as Vemo, including Workday and iCIMS data extracts, transformation dependencies, data quality controls, and issue triage.
- Release Management and Platform Updates - Experience assessing the impact of Workday feature releases, supporting regression testing, and partnering with functional and technical teams to adopt new capabilities safely
- Ability to assess and coordinate iCIMS and Vemo product updates and data model changes to ensure continued alignment with Workday processes, analytics standards, and reporting integrity.
- Stakeholder Partnership in a Multi Platform HR Environment - Ability to operate as the functional bridge between HR, Finance, IT, and vendors, ensuring Workday solutions align with business intent, platform standards, and implementation best practices.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with Talent Acquisition, HR Analytics, and external vendors (iCIMS, Vemo) to enable trusted data, actionable insights, and consistent interpretation of workforce metrics.
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor degree required. MBA preferred.
