This opportunity is part of the Global Technology Enterprise Products & Platforms, focused on enabling enterprise-wide services through McDonald’s global ServiceNow platform, where our vision is to “Always be a people led, product centric, future focused & trusted technology partner of choice.”
This role is responsible for defining and governing the enterprise data architecture for McDonald’s global ServiceNow platform, ensuring the platform’s data foundation is scalable, secure, trusted, and aligned to business and technology priorities. The role owns the ServiceNow data model strategy across core platform tables, reference data, configuration data, and relationships, with particular emphasis on CMDB and Common Service Data Model (CSDM) alignment. Working across product, engineering, enterprise architecture, integration, reporting, and enterprise data teams, this leader will establish authoritative data sources, define governance and quality standards, and resolve data model inconsistencies as multiple solutions and modules are converged into the Golden instance. The role will also help shape integration and data lake patterns so ServiceNow data is well-structured, controlled, and consumable for workflows, reporting, analytics, automation, and decision-making. This role reports to the Director, Technical Product Management.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Define and own the ServiceNow platform data architecture, including core tables, reference data, configuration data, extensions, and relationships across platform modules and solutions.
- Establish and maintain data standards for naming, classification, ownership, lifecycle, validation, and stewardship to improve consistency, trust, and reuse across the platform
- Lead the design and governance of CMDB and Common Service Data Model (CSDM) structures, ensuring alignment to ServiceNow best practices and enterprise architecture standards.
- Partner with functional teams, enterprise data teams, and system owners to identify systems of record and authoritative sources, and define how data should be created, synchronized, reconciled, and consumed in ServiceNow.
- Analyze and resolve data model, reference data, and relationship inconsistencies across modules and legacy solutions being converged into the ServiceNow Golden instance.
- Define data requirements, interface patterns, and controls for inbound and outbound integrations, including support for enterprise data lake initiatives and downstream analytics use cases.
- Maintain architecture artifacts and documentation, including logical and physical data models, data dictionaries, mapping rules, lineage, and governance standards.
- Define and monitor data quality controls, health metrics, and remediation processes to improve the completeness, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of ServiceNow data.
- Design data structures and governance practices that enable scalable platform growth, performant reporting, automation, and maintainable configuration with minimal technical debt.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security, privacy, retention, and audit requirements by embedding secure and controlled data practices into platform design.
- Collaborate with platform architects, product managers, engineers, reporting teams, and business stakeholders to translate service, workflow, and reporting requirements into sustainable data designs.
- Provide thought leadership on ServiceNow data architecture, CMDB/CSDM maturity, and platform convergence strategy, recommending improvements that strengthen operational visibility, service mapping, analytics, and automation outcomes.
- Influence platform roadmap and delivery decisions to protect data integrity, promote standardization, and support the long-term maintainability of McDonald’s global ServiceNow ecosystem.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture, platform data management, solution architecture, or a related discipline, including meaningful hands-on experience with ServiceNow.
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow table structures, extensibility patterns, reference data, integrations, and platform data model design.
- Hands-on experience with CMDB architecture, CSDM, data governance, and data quality management in a complex enterprise environment.
- Experience defining authoritative data sources, reconciliation approaches, and cross-system data flows for enterprise platforms.
- Strong understanding of data privacy, security, retention, and audit considerations in platform and enterprise data design.
- Experience identifying and resolving data model inconsistencies across multiple applications, workflows, or legacy platforms during migration, modernization, or convergence efforts.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable data architecture decisions and practical implementation guidance.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and influence decisions in a fast-moving, global environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- ServiceNow certifications relevant to the role, such as Certified System Administrator, Certified Implementation Specialist, or Certified Technical Architect.
- Experience with ServiceNow platform architecture across multiple modules, such as ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, CSM, or custom applications.
- Experience supporting large-scale instance consolidation, platform modernization, or migration to a standardized enterprise golden instance.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow Integration Hub, APIs, data ingestion patterns, and enterprise data lake or analytics integrations.
- Experience establishing governance forums, standards, and operating models for CMDB, CSDM, or enterprise platform data.
- Knowledge of ITIL, service management, service mapping, and configuration management practices that rely on accurate platform and configuration data.
- Experience working in a global organization with distributed teams and complex stakeholder environments.
