Job Summary

The Maintenance Store Keeper is responsible for managing and controlling maintenance spare parts, tools, consumables, and equipment inventory. The role ensures timely availability of materials required for maintenance activities while maintaining accurate inventory records and compliance with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

  • Receive, inspect, and store maintenance spare parts, tools, and consumables.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP/CMMS system.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment requests when required.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and annual physical inventory audits.
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and preservation of materials.

Material Issuance & Receipt

  • Issue spare parts and materials against approved requisitions.
  • Verify received materials against purchase orders and delivery challans.
  • Record all inward and outward stock transactions accurately.
  • Coordinate with procurement and maintenance teams regarding material availability.

Store Operations

  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the maintenance store.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions to prevent damage, deterioration, or loss.
  • Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) where applicable.
  • Identify and segregate obsolete, damaged, or slow-moving inventory.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
  • Maintain records of material receipts, issues, returns, and transfers.
  • Support audits by providing inventory documentation and reports.
  • Track critical spare parts inventory and report shortages.

Coordination

  • Work closely with maintenance technicians, engineers, procurement, and vendors.
  • Assist in forecasting spare parts requirements based on maintenance schedules.
  • Follow company policies related to inventory control and asset management.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Graduate, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or maintenance stores.
  • Knowledge of maintenance spare parts, tools, and industrial consumables.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Maximo, etc.) is an advantage.

Required Skills

  • Inventory management and stock control.
  • ERP/CMMS proficiency.
  • Strong record-keeping and documentation skills.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word).
  • Good communication and coordination abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of safety and housekeeping practices.
