About The Area

The Student Experience directorate is accountable for the design and delivery of all student-facing services and programs across the student lifecycle, from enrolment through to graduation. The directorate delivers student administration, student services and success programs, counselling and wellbeing support, accessibility services, co-curricular engagement, and industry engagement and placement programs across the Mumbai and Chennai campuses. It holds responsibility for student conduct and grievance processes and critical incident response, and works collaboratively with the Education and Research directorate, the Operations directorate, and external partners to ensure services are integrated, culturally responsive, and capable of supporting positive student outcomes, wellbeing, and progression.

About The Opportunity

  • Provides confidential counselling and wellbeing support to students experiencing personal, psychological, academic, or adjustment related challenges, delivering short term therapeutic interventions and psychoeducational support appropriate to a university setting.
  • Promotes early intervention and preventative wellbeing strategies, contributes wellbeing expertise to orientation and transition initiatives, and identifies and responds to students presenting with elevated wellbeing or safety risks.
  • Maintains professional standards, confidential case documentation, and referral relationships with external health and wellbeing providers, and collaborates with academic and professional staff to promote coordinated student support.

About You

  • A postgraduate qualification in counselling, psychology, clinical social work, mental health, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
  • Relevant professional registration or eligibility for registration in India.
  • Demonstrated experience providing counselling or wellbeing support services within an education, youth, community, or similar setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess student wellbeing concerns and provide appropriate short term therapeutic support, including identification and management of students experiencing distress or elevated risk.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage sensitively and effectively with individuals from diverse cultural, social, and educational backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated understanding of professional ethical practice, confidentiality requirements, and appropriate boundaries within counselling or wellbeing services.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support student wellbeing needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to support student wellbeing and inclusion through application of mental health promotion and trauma informed practice principles.
