Key Responsibilities
US Sales & Use Tax (SUT) Support
Indirect Tax Audit Support
- Assist with documentation gathering, data analysis, and workpaper preparation for four ongoing US Sales & Use Tax audits, with additional audits expected as the company's sales footprint and nexus expand.
- Manage exempt certificate tracking, ensuring certificates are current, complete, and properly organized.
- Drive reconciliation improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency of sales tax rec processes.
- Support registration in 10+ new state and local jurisdictions beginning in 2026.
- Assist with ongoing compliance filings across 95+ jurisdictions.
- Handle miscellaneous customer inquiries and refund requests, including preparation of amended returns and refund applications (e.g., Chicago customer refund scenarios).
- Manage sales tax reconciliation.
- Review and support registration in states that require separate marketplace facilitator reporting.
- Assist with EU DAC 6 reporting obligations for marketplace sales:
- Support expansion of use tax remittance into additional jurisdictions beyond the current filing footprint.
- Assist with use tax refund requests and ensure that 100% (or near-100%) of applicable expenses are allocated and reported across relevant states.
- Participate in the monthly close process, including preparation of reconciliations and accruals related to US tax accounts.
- Support preparation and filing of various US state and local tax returns and reports
- Prepare and maintain monthly account reconciliations for international entities' corporate income tax accounts.
- Support the international tax provision and compliance process, including review of supporting workpapers prepared by external advisors to verify that review comments have been addressed and updated.
- Assist with return-to-provision accounting, including supporting documentation and transaction drafting.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- 3–6 years of experience in US tax compliance, preferably with exposure to SALT (Sales & Use Tax), indirect tax, or multi-jurisdictional corporate tax.
- Familiarity with US state and local tax compliance concepts and indirect tax principles.
- Experience working with tax compliance software (e.g., Avalara, Vertex, or similar) is a plus; familiarity with Arnok or similar platforms a bonus.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; experience with ERP systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with US-based team across time zones.
