Technical Consultant

About Position:

We are seeking an experienced QAD Technical Consultant with strong expertise in QAD ERP implementations, Progress/Open Edge technologies, technical consulting, and enterprise application support. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering successful QAD implementations, providing technical leadership, supporting production environments, and working closely with customers to solve complex business and technical challenges. This role requires expertise in QAD technical architecture, Progress database technologies, Unix/Linux environments, AWS infrastructure, and Business Intelligence solutions.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and support QAD ERP implementation projects from design through deployment and post-production support.
• Analyze customer requirements and provide technical consulting aligned with business objectives.
• Configure, implement, and support QAD applications across enterprise environments.
• Conduct technical environment reviews and recommend best practices for system architecture and deployment.
• Support Progress/Open Edge application development and database-related activities.
• Manage and maintain QAD production environments and operational support activities.
• Develop and maintain Unix/Linux scripts to support application administration and automation requirements.
• Manage AWS-based infrastructure supporting QAD applications and related systems.
• Lead technical workshops, solution discussions, and customer training sessions.
• Collaborate with project managers, business consultants, and customer stakeholders throughout project delivery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to QAD applications and infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams and junior consultants.
• Design and support integrations, technical deployments, upgrades, migrations, and environment management activities.
• Participate in Business Intelligence solution implementation and reporting initiatives.
• Ensure solution quality, stability, performance, and adherence to project standards.
• Prepare technical documentation, implementation guides, and knowledge transfer materials.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 8 to 12 years of ERP implementation experience with at least 5 years of QAD implementation experience or extensive experience with other ERP platforms.
• Strong expertise in QAD ERP, MFG/Pro, and QAD technical architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Progress/Open Edge development and administration.
• Strong understanding of Progress Database environments and related technologies.
• Experience working within Unix/Linux operating environments.
• Knowledge of scripting and automation using Unix/Linux shell scripts.
• Experience managing AWS infrastructure and cloud-hosted application environments.
• Strong consulting experience with customer-facing implementation and support projects.
• Ability to lead technical workstreams and provide technical leadership across project teams.
• Experience conducting technical workshops, customer presentations, and advanced user training sessions.
• Knowledge of production support, system operations, environment management, and release activities.
• Experience in Business Intelligence deployments and reporting solutions.
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience including database administration and query optimization.
• Familiarity with BI tools such as Cognos, Business Objects, Hyperion, QlikView, Jasper, Where cape, or similar reporting platforms.
• Experience integrating ERP systems with reporting, analytics, and enterprise applications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and customer engagement capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts to technical and business audiences.
• Experience working independently and leading consultants on implementation engagements.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, MIS, Business Administration, or a related field.
