Senior Technical Operations Engineer

Keep production healthy. Keep research moving. 🛠️

About Nference

Healthcare creates an unbelievable amount of data every single day.

Clinical notes. Lab results. Medical images. Molecular data.

Most of it exists in places and formats that make it hard to connect, search, and actually learn from.

At nference, we’re changing that.

Working with leading medical institutions, we turn large-scale biomedical data into structured, research-ready systems. Using AI and high-performance computing, we help bridge what’s happening in patients with what’s happening at the molecular level, accelerating discovery in diagnostics, treatments, and precision medicine.

Big mission. Real engineering.

The Role 👩‍💻

You'll join the Technical Operations team and help keep the platforms powering our products reliable, stable, and available.

Production systems. Incident response. Infrastructure. Reliability. Automation.

You'll investigate issues, troubleshoot production environments, improve operational workflows, and work closely with engineering teams to keep critical systems running smoothly.

Translation: you'll be the reason production stays healthy when it matters most.

What You'll Do 🚀

  • Monitor production systems and infrastructure, investigating alerts and service disruptions across multiple environments
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and identify long-term fixes
  • Act as the secondary escalation point for operational incidents and support IC-1 engineers during critical issues
  • Own the incident lifecycle from investigation and escalation to resolution and post-incident documentation
  • Partner with backend, platform, and infrastructure teams to diagnose issues and implement reliable fixes
  • Support application releases, patches, and configuration changes while ensuring production stability
  • Analyze system performance and operational metrics to identify reliability improvements
  • Build automation scripts using Python, Bash, or Shell to improve operational efficiency
  • Mentor IC-1 TechOps engineers and support onboarding and incident handling best practices
  • Document operational procedures and troubleshooting guides so future-you (and everyone else) says thank you

You'll Probably Enjoy This If 🛠️

  • You have 1-4 years of experience in Technical Operations, Production Support, Infrastructure Support, or System Administration
  • Linux feels like home, and you're comfortable debugging services, analyzing logs, and troubleshooting production systems
  • You automate repetitive work using Python, Bash, or Shell
  • Monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana help you understand what's happening before users notice
  • You've worked with AWS, GCP, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, or modern cloud infrastructure
  • Databases, networking fundamentals, and web services are familiar territory
  • Git is part of your everyday workflow
  • You enjoy solving complex production problems and improving system reliability
  • You communicate clearly and collaborate well across engineering teams
