Technical Project Manager - Voip/Telecom

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with hands-on VoIP development background to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of telecom and VoIP projects. This is not a purely coordinative role — the ideal candidate has previously built VoIP systems and now leads teams that deliver them. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, own project timelines, communicate directly with international clients, and ensure projects ship on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining high quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end VoIP implementation projects from initiation through deployment and post-implementation support.
- Gather business and technical requirements from clients and translate them into actionable plans.
- Prepare project plans, schedules, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with Development, QA, DevOps, Support, and Infrastructure teams.
- Track progress against milestones and ensure timely delivery.
- Run project kickoffs, status meetings, and client review meetings.
- Identify risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
- Manage scope changes and maintain clear project documentation, reports, and dashboards.
- Coordinate UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and production rollout.
- Ensure successful deployment and customer acceptance.
- Monitor budgets, timelines, and resource utilisation.
- Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and management.
- Ensure compliance with organisational quality standards and project methodologies.
- Support pre-sales with effort estimation and project planning.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate requirement analysis, documentation, estimation, and reporting.
Required Technical Skills
- Hands-on development experience in VoIP/telecom (e.g. FreeSWITCH, Asterisk, Kamailio) — practical, build-level experience, not just conceptual familiarity.
- Strong understanding of VoIP technologies and telecom architecture: SIP, RTP, WebRTC, SBC, and IP telephony.
- Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Comfortable using AI-assisted and project-management tools to work efficiently.
- Comfortable navigating Linux servers.
- Basic networking awareness (TCP/IP, NAT, firewalls).
Nice to have: exposure to a cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and REST API integrations.

Experience
- 6–7 years of overall IT experience.
- Minimum 3 years in a project management role.

- Proven experience managing VoIP or telecom software projects.
- Experience working with international clients (UK, US, Europe, or Middle East) preferred.
