We're looking for an automation test engineer who owns quality end-to-end, not someone who writes tests off a handed-down spec, but someone who figures out what needs testing, builds the automation, and drives it into CI. You'll work primarily in Node.js + Playwright, and you'll use AI tooling to accelerate both the coding and the orchestration of your test suites. • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end and integration test suites in Playwright (TypeScript/Node.js) across our web UI and backend services.
• Own the test strategy for the features and services you cover, decide coverage, define what "done and verified" means, and hold the line on release quality.
• Use AI coding assistants and agents to generate, refactor, and maintain tests faster and to orchestrate test runs, triage failures, and reduce flakiness.
• Integrate suites into CI (Jenkins) so they run automatically on every change and gate releases.
• Build reusable test fixtures, data setup/teardown, and page/API abstractions that scale across a multi-service platform.
• Debug failures across the stack, front end, APIs, and service boundaries, and drive root-cause fixes with the engineering team.
• Champion quality practices: reporting, metrics, and a culture where tests are trusted.

• 3+ years in test automation or SDET roles.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript and hands-on Playwright (or comparable: Cypress, Puppeteer) experience.
• Solid grasp of API testing (REST/gRPC) and testing distributed/microservice systems.
• Fluent with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated use of AI tools (Claude Code, Copilot, or similar) in day-to-day work, writing code, generating tests, or orchestrating workflows.
• Ownership mindset: you take a problem and run it to the finish without being managed step-by-step.
• Clear communicator who can articulate risk and quality trade-offs.

• Experience testing in Kubernetes / Helm-deployed environments.
• Performance or load testing (k6, JMeter).
• Exposure to observability (OpenTelemetry, logs/traces) for debugging failures.
• Contract testing, visual regression, or accessibility testing experience.
