Vendor Resourced Replenishment (VRR) Buyer

Position Summary:

The Vendor Resourced Replenishment (VRR) Buyer is responsible for managing inventory replenishment for assigned manufacturers across Kroger Distribution Centers.  This position analyzes inventory, forecasted demand, promotions, lead times, and supply constraints to develop replenishment orders that maximize product availability while minimizing excess inventory.  The VRR Buyer serves as a key business partner between OSMG, Kroger, manufacturers, and clients to ensure exceptional execution and service.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management & Replenishment

·       Manage replenishment activities for assigned manufacturers and product categories.

·       Analyze inventory positions, demand trends, and replenishment needs.

·       Create and manage purchase orders within Kroger replenishment systems.

·       Monitor inventory levels to maximize in-stock performance while minimizing overstocks and out-of-stocks.

Forecasting & Inventory Planning

·       Review sales trends, promotions, seasonality, and inventory levels to develop replenishment strategies.

·       Adjust forecasts based on business conditions and customer demand.

·       Evaluate inventory health and recommend corrective actions.

·       Maintain accurate forecasting assumptions and inventory planning.

Kroger & Client Partnership

·       Build strong relationships with Kroger Procurement, Distribution Centers, manufacturers, and internal OSMG teams.

·       Communicate shortages, lead-time changes, production issues, and inventory concerns proactively.

·       Participate in client meetings and business reviews.

·       Provide exceptional customer service through timely, professional communication.

Supply Chain Performance

·       Monitor manufacturer fill rates and purchase order execution.

·       Review daily exception reports and coordinate recovery plans.

·       Track inbound shipments and delivery performance.

·       Recommend process improvements that improve inventory performance.

Continuous Improvement

·       Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy and replenishment effectiveness.

·       Support implementation of new clients and new product launches.

·       Assist with development of best practices and standardized processes.

·       Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the VRR program.

Qualifications

• Experience:
• Inventory planning, replenishment, purchasing, demand planning, forecasting, supply chain, or related experience. Grocery, CPG, Kroger, VRR or Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) experience preferred
• Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Comfortable making data-driven decisions with incomplete information.
• Customer-focused mindset with continuous improvement orientation.
• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Finance, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Technical:

o  Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas)

o  Power BI preferred
