Role Overview

We're hiring a YouTube Video Editor to edit long-form YouTube videos and YouTube Shorts. You'll turn raw footage into engaging videos using storytelling, motion graphics, B-roll, and sound design.

This role is perfect for someone who can make complex business topics easy to watch and understand.

What You Will Do

• Edit long-form YouTube videos from raw footage: shape narrative structure, tighten pacing, and integrate visual storytelling
• Produce YouTube Shorts from the same source material to support long-form content
• Design and animate motion graphics, lower-thirds, charts, diagrams, and explainer visuals that make complex business concepts easy to understand.
• Integrate B-roll, screen recordings, diagrams, charts, callouts, and visual metaphors to reinforce messaging
• Craft strong hooks and pacing to improve retention and engagement
• Handle audio cleanup, balancing, music selection, color correction, and mastering for YouTube
• Apply YouTube best practices for discoverability and retention (algorithm awareness, watch-time focus)
• Review videos before publishing and recommend improvements to editing, pacing, visuals, or audio
• Develop thumbnail image concepts and title ideas that improve CTR
• Track channel KPIs including views, watch time, retention, CTR, subscribers, and conversions
• Collaborate with the content team to identify key messages, story beats, and hooks
• Maintain organized project files and a repeatable editorial workflow

Must-Have Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional video editing experience (B2B or educational content preferred)
• Portfolio or YouTube examples showing engaging edits (links required)
• Strong skills in video editing software
• Good sense of pacing and keeping viewers engaged (for long videos and Shorts)
• Basic audio skills: cleaning dialogue, balancing levels, adding music
• Can watch raw footage, find key messages, and make videos visually interesting

Preferred Experience

• Experience editing founder-led, educational, business, finance, SaaS, HR, or B2B YouTube channels.
• Familiarity with YouTube Studio analytics and strategies to improve retention and CTR.
• Prior startup experience or experience working with fast-growing B2B brands.
