Role Description The Chess Instructor role at 4CHAMPZ is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The instructor will conduct regular chess classes, coaching sessions, and practice games for learners of varying ages and skill levels in schools, colleges, and communities. Daily responsibilities include planning lesson content, developing training materials, demonstrating strategies and tactics, and providing individual feedback to improve students’ understanding of chess. The role also involves assessing progress, organizing internal tournaments or practice matches, coordinating schedules with partner institutions, and maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment. The Chess Instructor is expected to collaborate with other coaches and staff to uphold 4CHAMPZ’s standards of quality and professionalism.
Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Chess, including opening theory, middlegame strategies, and endgame techniques.
• Comfort with Mathematics concepts that support logical thinking, pattern recognition, and strategic planning.
• Demonstrated Teaching and Tutoring experience, ideally with children, adolescents, or beginner to intermediate players.
• Training skills in designing practice plans, structuring progressive lessons, and delivering constructive feedback.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse learners and foster an encouraging classroom environment.
• Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru and manage classes across different locations within the city as needed.
• Prior experience in coaching or competitive chess play; relevant certifications or ratings are an advantage.
• Minimum educational qualification of a high school diploma; a bachelor’s degree in education, mathematics, or related fields is preferred.
