Computer Vision / Systems Engineer

Location: Remote (CET working hours)

At Jaipur Robotics, we build AI systems that turn visual and sensor data into automation, efficiency, and operational intelligence for the waste industry. This role is primarily focused on Linux-based edge systems, networking, and real-world industrial deployments. We are a fast-growing, VC-backed clean-tech startup based in Switzerland, working with leading operators across Europe and expanding our engineering team to develop industrial perception and automation systems.

What we offer

We’re hiring a Senior Edge Systems Engineer (Computer Vision / Perception) to build and operate the core systems behind our industrial deployments. You will work across edge computing, Linux systems, networking, and perception, developing software that runs continuously on-site and scales across multiple plants.

• Build and operate systems deployed in real industrial environments across Europe
• Own critical infrastructure across edge devices, sensors, and cloud

Key Responsibilities

Edge Computing & Linux Systems 

• Develop and maintain software running on Linux (Ubuntu) edge computers
• Manage system services, scripts, and long-running processes in production
• Design pipelines for processing data from cameras and sensors
• Monitor performance, logs, and resource usage across deployments

Networking & Industrial Deployments

• Deploy and maintain systems within industrial network infrastructures
• Configure and troubleshoot connectivity between sensors, edge systems, and our cloud services
• Work within restricted and security-controlled network setups

Perception & Data Pipelines

• Develop perception pipelines combining camera and LiDAR data
• Implement image and video processing, stitching, and sensor fusion 
• Develop automated calibration routines and time-synchronisation pipelines for multi-sensor systems
• Optimise machine learning pipelines for deployment on edge devices
• Ensure efficient compression and transmission of visual data

Platform & Automation Development

• Contribute to the development of the core stack for automated deployments 
• Improve reliability, scalability, and maintainability of deployed systems

Requirements

• Strong experience with Linux systems (Ubuntu) in production environments
• Strong programming and OOP fundamentals in Python or C++
• Strong understanding of networking and distributed systems (routing, firewalls, VPNs, TCP/IP)
• Experience building, deploying, and maintaining edge systems in real-world environments (industrial IT/OT settings)
• Experience working with systems that must run 24/7 with minimal downtime

Nice to Have

• Experience working in an early-stage startup / scale-up (<50 engineers)
• Experience with camera and LiDAR systems
• Familiarity with containerization and deployment automation
• Strong understanding of networking and distributed systems
• Solid background in computer vision or perception systems
