Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Desktop Support Engineer role based in the Greater Delhi Area. The Desktop Support Engineer will provide hands-on technical support for desktop computers, laptops, and peripherals, including installation, configuration, and maintenance. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, supporting printers and network connectivity, and handling troubleshooting requests from internal users. The role will involve documenting support activities, maintaining asset records, and ensuring systems adhere to company standards and security policies. The engineer will collaborate with other IT team members to support bulk deployments, upgrades, and ongoing infrastructure projects.
Qualifications.
Technical Skills & Requirements- Strong knowledge of desktop computers and computer hardware, including installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and hardware upgrades.
- Hands-on experience in technical support and troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, and end-user systems within a business or corporate environment.
- Ability to provide printer support, including installation, driver configuration, network printer setup, sharing, and troubleshooting printing-related issues.
- Good understanding of Windows operating systems, with familiarity with macOS considered an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of firewall configuration, including firewall rules, internet access policies, IP addressing, NAT, DHCP, and basic security policies.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VLAN, DHCP, DNS, subnetting, and network troubleshooting.
- Hands-on knowledge of server rack installation and management, including rack organization, cable management, device mounting, and equipment labeling.
- Experience with patch panels, including cable termination, port labeling, patching, testing, and troubleshooting network connectivity.
- Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot managed and unmanaged network switches, including basic VLAN and port configuration.
- Basic knowledge of wireless access point installation and configuration, including SSID creation, Wi-Fi security, channel configuration, coverage optimization, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Ability to troubleshoot internet connectivity, LAN issues, Wi-Fi problems, IP conflicts, slow network performance, and basic network hardware failures.
- Familiarity with IT security best practices, endpoint protection, antivirus solutions, user access controls, and secure system configuration.
- Effective communication skills and a customer-focused approach to resolving technical issues on-site and remotely.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, manage multiple support requests, and collaborate effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft desktop support certifications, networking certifications, or a diploma/degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field will be an advantage.
- Previous experience in desktop support, IT helpdesk, IT infrastructure support, managed IT services, or enterprise environments is preferred.
