Role Description The General Manager – Hotels is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for overseeing hotel operations, guest services, and overall property performance. This role includes managing daily hotel activities, supervising department heads, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality service standards in rooms, front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and banqueting. The General Manager will monitor revenue, occupancy, and profitability, implement cost controls, and drive sales and marketing initiatives to achieve business targets. They will ensure compliance with company policies, safety and hygiene standards, and local regulations, while fostering a positive work culture and leading workforce planning, training, and performance management. The role also involves engaging with guests, handling escalations, maintaining vendor relationships, and representing the hotel in local community and corporate events.
Qualifications
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with experience supervising cross-functional hospitality teams and developing talent.
  • Strong operations management capabilities across front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and reservations, preferably in multi-property or business hotel environments.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, and cost control, with the ability to analyze performance metrics and implement improvement plans.
  • Background in sales, marketing, and customer relationship management within the hospitality sector, including corporate and leisure segments.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with a customer-centric mindset and focus on service quality.
  • Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, with flexibility to manage extended hours and operational exigencies typical of hotel environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced certifications or MBA in hospitality or operations are an advantage.
  • Prior experience as a General Manager, Resident Manager, or senior operations leader in hotels or resorts; exposure to resto-bars, catering, and events is highly beneficial.
  • Proficiency in hotel management systems, property management systems (PMS), and basic office productivity tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to uphold safety, hygiene, and regulatory compliance standards, and to implement standard operating procedures effectively
