Role Summary

We are looking for a Manager – HR to lead end-to-end human resources operations for our manufacturing facility and corporate functions. This role will be responsible for building HR systems and processes for a fast-scaling, regulated manufacturing environment — covering talent acquisition, employee relations, statutory compliance, performance management, and workforce planning across shop-floor, R&D/QA, and corporate teams. The ideal candidate has manufacturing/FMCG or pharma/nutraceutical industry HR experience and is comfortable operating in a lean, hands-on setup while also building scalable processes for growth.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Own end-to-end recruitment for plant (shop floor, QA/QC, production), R&D, and corporate roles, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offer management.
  • Partner with department heads to forecast manpower needs across manufacturing, R&D & Quality, and corporate functions.
  • Build and maintain a contractor/contingent workforce pipeline for production scale-ups.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure statutory compliance across Factories Act, ESI, PF, Payment of Wages Act, Shops & Establishment Act, and other applicable labour laws for a GMP-certified manufacturing facility.
  • Maintain HR documentation and records to support certification audits (FSSAI, GMP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, Halal, Kosher) wherever HR-related evidence (training records, competency matrices, org charts) is required.
  • Manage payroll inputs, attendance, leave management, and coordination with finance/payroll processing.
  • Draft and maintain HR policies, SOPs, and the employee handbook, keeping them aligned with regulatory and industry-specific requirements.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution across plant and corporate staff.
  • Design and drive employee engagement initiatives suited to a mixed shop-floor and knowledge-worker environment.
  • Support a safe, respectful workplace culture in line with POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) requirements, including committee coordination and training.

Performance & Talent Management

  • Roll out and administer performance appraisal cycles across departments.
  • Support goal-setting, feedback processes, and career development conversations with department heads.
  • Identify training needs (technical/GMP compliance training, safety training, soft skills) and coordinate delivery, often in partnership with QA/R&D leads.

Organizational Development

  • Support org design and role clarity as the company scales production capacity and headcount.
  • Contribute to compensation benchmarking and structuring, particularly for specialized manufacturing, R&D, and quality roles.
  • Partner with leadership on culture-building initiatives appropriate to a company serving government and humanitarian-sector clients, where documentation rigor and audit-readiness matter.
Candidate Requirements

Experience

  • 6–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred — food processing, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, FMCG, or chemicals industries are all relevant.
  • Demonstrated experience managing statutory compliance for a factory/plant setup in India.

Education

  • MBA/PGDM in Human Resources, or equivalent postgraduate qualification.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong working knowledge of Indian labour law and factory compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with HRMS/payroll software; Excel proficiency for HR reporting and analytics.
  • Ability to operate independently in a lean team while building processes for scale.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills, comfortable engaging with both shop-floor workers and senior leadership.
  • High attention to detail — this role supports a company where documentation traceability (batch records, audit trails) is part of the operating culture.

Preferred (not mandatory)

  • Experience supporting ISO/GMP/FSSAI or similar quality-certification audits from an HR documentation standpoint.
  • Exposure to a company serving government or institutional/humanitarian clients.
What We Offer
  • The opportunity to build HR function and systems from a growth stage in a scaling, precision-manufacturing company.
  • Exposure to a business with global reach — government, NGO, and multinational clients.
  • Competitive compensation, aligned with industry benchmarks for manufacturing/nutraceutical HR roles.
