Club Operations Manager


Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.


Our client, a premier sports and recreational club in Tanzania, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sport Club Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of its world-class racket sports facility.

This is an exciting opportunity for an operations professional with a strong background in hospitality, customer service, facility management, or events management to lead operational excellence in a dynamic and member-focused environment. The successful candidate will ensure exceptional service delivery, efficient facility management, and seamless coordination of club activities, tournaments, and events while maintaining the highest operational standards.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the sports club, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation across courts, reception, café, changing rooms, and all common areas.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and ensure prompt resolution of operational issues.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure uninterrupted facility operations.
  • Supervise shift managers, front-of-house staff, and support teams.
  • Prepare staff duty rosters and monitor attendance, punctuality, and shift handovers.
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
  • Foster a positive, customer-focused, and high-performance working culture.
  • Coordinate coaching schedules and monitor attendance.
  • Ensure coaches comply with club policies and operational standards.
  • Monitor and reconcile coaching fees payable to the club.
  • Deliver an outstanding experience for members and guests through excellent customer service.
  •  Oversee inventory levels for sports equipment, merchandise, and operational supplies.
  • Coordinate timely procurement to prevent stock shortages.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and stock control processes.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and maintenance service providers.
  • Coordinate operational requirements for tournaments, leagues, corporate events, and club activities.
  • Ensure operational readiness during peak periods and special events.
  • Support event planning and execution to deliver exceptional member experiences.
  • Prepare operational reports and communicate risks, maintenance issues, and operational challenges to management.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in customer satisfaction and club operations.


SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Sports Management, Facility Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in operations, hospitality, facility management, or customer service leadership.
  • Proven experience managing teams and coordinating daily operations within a hospitality, leisure, sports, or recreation environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in event management, including tournaments, corporate events, or hospitality functions, is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and operational reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
