Job Summary
The Product Manager will be responsible for leading the end-to-end product management lifecycle for the assigned publication portfolio across the Maharashtra market. The role involves driving product strategy, market research, curriculum alignment, product development, portfolio profitability, competitive intelligence, sales enablement, teacher engagement, and cross-functional execution.
The ideal candidate should have prior experience in the education industry, possess strong people management skills, and have an in-depth understanding of school education, curriculum requirements, and publication products.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Develop and execute product strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Own the complete lifecycle of assigned publication products from concept to market success.
- Identify opportunities for new product development and existing product enhancement.
- Monitor product performance, profitability, adoption, and customer feedback.
- Recommend product rationalization and portfolio optimization initiatives.
Market Research & Customer Insights
- Conduct regular market visits to schools, distributors, retailers, and educators.
- Build and maintain competitive intelligence on products, pricing, positioning, and marketing activities.
Sales Enablement
- Develop product positioning, messaging, and value propositions.
- Conduct product training programs for Sales teams, channel partners, Schools.
- Create product presentations, brochures, sales tools, and competitive comparison documents.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and ROI of engagement initiatives.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop Product Executives or Assistant Product Managers.
- Allocate responsibilities, review performance, and build team capabilities.

Mandatory Eligibility Criteria
Experience
- Total experience of 7+ years
- Product Management experience in any industry.
- Minimum 2 year of team management experience
- Prior experience in the Education Industry is mandatory (Educational Publishing, EdTech, K-12 Education, Curriculum, Learning Solutions, or related domains).
Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline.
- Post Graduate preferred.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in Marathi (Read, Write & Speak) is mandatory.
- Proficiency in English and Hindi is essential.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in educational publishing or K-12 learning products.
- Strong understanding of school ecosystem and education market.
- Comfortable interacting with school leaders, teachers, distributors, and sales teams.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and product launches.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Location
Mumbai (Candidate should be based in Mumbai or willing to relocate.)
