  1. Role Overview

We are looking for a Junior Electrical / Substation Specialist to support the delivery of substation upgrade and extension projects within the 10–50 kV range. The role involves technical documentation, electrical drawing updates, site support, inspections, quality assurance, and coordination with international project teams. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior specialists while independently handling assigned technical tasks.


  1. Key Responsibilities

Technical & Design

  • Review existing substation documentation, drawings, and cable schedules for 10–50 kV installations.
  • Update and revise electrical drawings, including:
  • Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs)
  • Circuit Diagrams
  • Wiring Diagrams
  • Perform red-marking of existing drawings and maintain accurate revision records.
  • Update internal wiring, external wiring, and cable lists for breaker replacements, switchgear retrofits, and new cubicles.
  • Support relay protection and control documentation under senior supervision.



Project Execution & Site Support

  • Participate in site inspections and technical walkdowns.
  • Verify existing and proposed wiring across bays and interfaces.
  • Support quality assurance activities for equipment supplied by switchboard manufacturers and vendors.
  • Assist during installation, testing, and commissioning by resolving minor technical issues.


Coordination & Documentation

  • Support project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking.
  • Coordinate technical clarifications with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain proper document control and version management.
  • Collaborate with Denmark-based teams and the Sweco Design Center in an international environment.


Typical Projects

  • Circuit breaker replacement projects.
  • Switchgear retrofit and upgrade projects.
  • Installation of new switchgear cubicles.
  • Updating drawings and cable schedules for existing and new substations.
  • Inspection support, documentation verification, and punch-list management.


Required Skills

  • 2–3 years of experience in electrical infrastructure, substations, or industrial power systems.
  • Practical understanding of medium-voltage electrical systems (10–50 kV preferred).
  • Experience reviewing and updating electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD software.
  • Good understanding of electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to work independently on assigned technical tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation quality.
  • Experience working on brownfield or existing substation projects.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and eager to learn from senior specialists.
  • Good problem-solving and organizational skills.


Responsibility Level

The Junior Electrical / Substation Specialist independently performs assigned technical and documentation tasks while working under the technical guidance of senior specialists and project managers. Final technical decisions and design approvals remain the responsibility of senior project members. The role is intended to support efficient project delivery and maintain high-quality engineering documentation.
