Role Description
This is a full-time, remote role for an Estimator – Home Modifications & Residential Projects. The Estimator will review client needs and clinical reports, interpret plans and specifications, and prepare detailed cost estimates for home modifications and residential improvement projects. Daily responsibilities include obtaining and evaluating supplier and contractor quotes, preparing scope of works and bills of quantities, and ensuring estimates align with CHSP, HCP, and NDIS funding requirements and guidelines. The role involves collaborating with care coordinators, occupational therapists, builders, and trades, updating clients and stakeholders on project costs and timeframes, and maintaining accurate records in company systems. The Estimator will also contribute to process improvements, risk assessment for installations, and quality assurance of delivered modifications.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Technology, or a related field.
- Previous experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, Draftsperson, Project Engineer, Site Engineer, or similar role within the construction or building industry.
- Experience interpreting architectural drawings, engineering plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Knowledge of Australian building practices, the National Construction Code (NCC), and relevant Australian Standards is highly regarded. Comprehensive training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Experience estimating residential renovation, home modification, disability access, fit-out, or commercial construction projects is advantageous.
- Experience using estimating or construction management software such as Simpro is preferred but not essential. Full training will be provided.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prepare accurate bills of quantities, material take-offs, and cost estimates.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining clear communication with the Australian team.
- Experience working with Australian clients or within the Australian construction industry is highly regarded but not mandatory.
