Shroomery®
Job Description
Human Resources Manager
Location: Farm near Manesar, Haryana (Regular on-site presence required)
About Shroomery
Shroomery is a mushroom farm and fungi-forward food company dedicated to expanding how India grows, cooks, and thinks about mushrooms. From climate-controlled grow rooms to kitchens, research labs, and community forays, we work across cultivation, education, and innovation to push fungi forward.
Build the People Function from the Ground Up
As we scale, we're looking for an HR Manager who wants far more than a routine HR role.
This is an opportunity to work directly with the founders and leadership team to build the company's people function from the ground up.
You'll have ownership across hiring, employee experience, HR operations, policies, culture, and organizational development. You'll help shape not just our HR function, but the future of our company.
If you're someone who enjoys taking initiative, solving people challenges, and creating systems that scale, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
Talent Acquisition
- Lead end-to-end recruitment across corporate and operational roles.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for both white-collar and blue-collar hiring.
- Write job descriptions and partner with hiring managers to define role requirements.
- Create an exceptional candidate experience from sourcing to onboarding.
People Operations
- Manage onboarding, employee documentation, attendance, payroll coordination, and day-to-day HR operations.
- Develop HR policies, SOPs, and an employee handbook.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, statutory requirements, and POSH regulations.
Employee Relations
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee concerns and grievance resolution.
- Foster a transparent, respectful, and high-performance work environment.
- Support managers in resolving workplace conflicts and employee relations matters.
Performance & Development
- Assist managers with goal setting, performance reviews, and development planning.
- Identify training needs and coordinate learning and development initiatives.
- Recognize and celebrate employee achievements while driving a performance-oriented culture.
Culture & Engagement
- Help shape the culture of a rapidly growing company.
- Organize employee engagement initiatives and team-building activities.
- Build processes that strengthen collaboration, communication, and employee satisfaction.
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Experience managing both white-collar and blue-collar workforces is highly preferred.
- Strong exposure to recruitment, employee relations, HR operations, and policy implementation.
- Working knowledge of payroll administration, onboarding, and POSH compliance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- A builder's mindset with the willingness to take ownership beyond the job description.
- Someone who is proactive, resourceful, and excited by the opportunity to create systems rather than simply maintain them.
Why Join Shroomery?
This role is ideal for someone who wants to accelerate their HR career.
Instead of managing just one function, you'll gain end-to-end exposure across the entire employee lifecycle while working directly with the founders and leadership team.
At Shroomery, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Build HR systems and processes from scratch.
- Work directly with founders and business leaders, with meaningful exposure to strategic decision-making.
- Shape the culture of a fast-growing company during a pivotal stage of growth.
- Lead hiring across both corporate and operational teams.
- Drive employee engagement and organizational development initiatives.
- Take ownership of projects with visible business impact.
- Learn across multiple aspects of business beyond traditional HR.
- Grow your career significantly faster through broad exposure, autonomy, and real responsibility.
If you're looking for a role where your ideas will be heard, your work will have a tangible impact, and your growth won't be limited by hierarchy, this could be the opportunity for you.
Location
This role is based at our farm near Manesar, Haryana.
Regular travel to the farm is an essential part of the role.
Transportation allowance can be discussed as part of the overall compensation package.
